Also not shown are 2 rolls of assorted pre-1960 duplicates. The jewels of the hunt are a 1936 buffalo in VF condition, an AU 1939, some nicely toned '50s pieces and an entire roll of uncirculated 1969S straight from the bank. Not a bad collection for a net cost of $10.

Nice pluck there. The other thread about rolls got me hooked and I ordered a box of halves yesterday. Girl at the bank said they may not be old ones. Told her I'd take my chances I get one with dust on it!

Now what about the 197 rolls of nickels worth that you didn't put in albums?

Congrats on your success!

Even though I am an album guy now, I forgot how nice the Whitman folders look when they are filled! Takes me back...

Pretty good deal Bud !.....Now how much longer until it's filled though ?.....
It does feel good to fill holes for just a small/low cost effort doesn't it ?...

Those nickel albums pratically fill themselves, don't they?

I bought a nickel book about a week ago and am almost done with it. I get most of the coins at work in the drawer.

One of the most satisfying feelings in coin collecting is feeling the heft of a full Whitman album. I figure it'll take at least 20 more boxes until the pre-war portion of the album is full. I may just have to buy some of them. Or, I could move on to cents. Hmmm...

I'm not sure those Whitman books are the best way to store your coins.

I'm almost sure they're not. My next project is to buy a Dansco album and put together a set of higher grade pieces. There are a few I'll transfer over from the Whitman book at that time. The rest are all modern or low grade. I knew the Whitman album was just an appetizer.
