Hey all,

Probably my last post for today,I am having a blast reading through all the forums!
So dimes are my favorite to collect, don't know why but just always liked them.
Anywho, Here I have two dimes, didn't want to post them separately but if I need to post things separate just let me know.
So the first dime I am torn between die break and die crack, is there a difference? The second, if you look at the back of Roosevelt's head, I believe that is doubling and on the rim I think that is what you guys call a Cud? I am slowly learning about coins so please be patient with me if I am not saying this tight lol.
Anyway your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi,

I think that first dime just got scratched.

The second dime had a die chip east of the portrait and there's something going on on the rim at 6 o'clock but I'd need a close-up edge pic to be sure that wasn't just damage.

Here is some information on die breaks http://www.error-ref.com/?s=die+break
If you scroll down there's coin with a die break and die cracks.

That's a good site for information on errors. Use the search box to look up stuff like Cuds or whatever.

to the Forum. with Buddy in the absence of larger pics. The first coin appears to have incuse scratches, rather than a raised die issue. I see the Die Chip error east of the head on the second dime. The " Cud" at the rim is probably just damage. If you look at the outside edge of the coin you'll probably see the dent that caused it.
