Where I live it isn't safe to even tell people you have more than ten cents to your name.

I don't hide them. They are in Lighthouse Binders on a shelf. I'm happy to show anyone that seems mildly interested. On the other hand my collection is mostly non-US (OFEC collector) of mainly circulation intended coins (many are UNC). I have a few silver coins but whatever value I have in most of my collection is due to adding up a lot of $0.50 coins If someone stole my collection I would be very sad but I would not be out 10's of thousands of dollars, just years of collecting.

For circulation coins or older coins, I display one of each coin in a binder and store the rest away. For silver and gold coins, I put them in their original packaging (if they have original packaging) and store them in a safe.

Most are in 2 safety deposit boxes. Theft of course can happen but living in FL and seeing the devastation of Hurricane Andrew I am happy to pay $120 a year to not have to worry about that. Bank vaults survived but most homes, businesses and shopping malls did not.

If you do hang some on the walls in frames or put together a showcase id be sure not to have it in plain view when the blinds are open or when people are dropping stuff off at your door also consider tucking stuff away if your having work done inside or appliances delivered

No one cares but me, so they aren't displayed or kept here. But, certainly not in "safety deposit". If someone else holds them, they just aren't safe.

I hide most of mine in a safe deposit box unless I am working on a certain set. It is not safe here in Tampa to keep coins, jewels, guns or anything of value sitting out where people can see. If your plumber, electrician, bug man or anyone who enters your house sees these things and knows their value then you are apt to get a midnight caller or a midday breaker. The house next door was burglarized in broad day light and they had an alarm system and security cameras. They also had a 6 foot high privacy fence. I don't have such fences since it makes it easy for burglars to break in being unseen from the street. After that incident I bought a Remington 870 12 gauge just in case and I have a .45 by my bed.

I don't advertise that I have a collection But my Family and a few of my friends know that I am a coin "Nut". Most of my coins reside in albums or in various different slab storage options and they are all stored in 2 filing cabinets and a large chest of drawers, The rest of them are usually scattered across my desk or in the desk drawers . Because of where I live I don't have a "Need" for a big safe or an arsenal to protect my coins, My coins biggest enemy has been PVC or my own foolishness when it comes to destroying or loosing coins.

I keep mine in Dansco albums on my book shelf. I have a handful of slabs sitting on my desk. I have a child on the way so I'm sure they're going to stay on the top shelf.

Quote: I love this feature, but I wish you could add non-PCGS coins! You can, for the 'Collector's Showcase' sets...

Quote: You can, for the 'Collector's Showcase' sets... Are you sure, SPP? I've tried adding non-PCGS items to my inventory, but when I pull up my showcase those items are not available to add to the showcase. I would love to add a couple of my non-PCGS Morgans to my Graded Morgan Type Set! Specifically my counterfeit 1902-O Micro O in an old white ANACS slab!
