Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 02/17/2017 12:02 pm Looks like at one time it was a stick pin. The blob is from soldering on the pin. Traces of the pin along the N show that on the finiashed pin the obverse of Lincln would be upright while wearing it. The lack of wear would indicte that once it broke off the pin it probably was not carried as a pocket piece. It wouldn't takke long as a pocket piece to produce more wear than this coin shows.
