LOL Kurt

Canadian Tire is a store chain, originally they sold, well, tires lol. Now it's more a dept store ... for years they have given out "Canadian Tire Money" as a reward when you pay cash.

Here's a paragraph from their web page ...

Canadian Tire 'Money'™ was inspired by Muriel Billes, the wife of Canadian Tire's co-founder and first president, A.J. Billes, and was introduced as a "cash bonus coupon" in 1958 in the first Canadian Tire Gas Bar in Toronto.

and here's the link

and here's a pic for nds

Stewie, ah--I know that store! Those are cool "bills"...they used similar color schemes to Canadian currency.

Well CT money has a listing under ebay canada categories and there are over 40 items listed ... some with bids!!
For 99¢ bid & $1 shipping you can buy $1.10 worth of CT money ... that's a net loss of 89¢

There are many collectors of Canadian Tire money. Some of the early issues sell in the thousands of dollars. Here is a link to a collectors club. If I am not mistaken, a few years back Charltons put out a guide for Canadian Tire money
