I can post a picture later on if needed(using mobile device). I noticed an upside down triangle punch just below and to the right of the 3 of 1963 of a 1 KR silver coin. I looked up the coin online and found that none had that marking. Is it really distinct with clear lines and has aged with the coin. Could use some help identifying this marking.
Rest in Peace

to the forum!

We can do almost nothing to really help you I without pix, both sides and a closeup of what your question is. All I can do is quess you have a one Krona 1963 Swedish coin. If it is punched in, its called a CounterPunch. Why for, who did it? Jewelers sometimes, other countries, even banks made these for various reasons. Maybe a foreign collector may know this individual countermark?

Yes, please post pics of both sides of the whole coin and a close-up if possible of the mark in question. Thanks!

The metal around the triangle looks raised up and outward from the triangle.

The triangle is not supposed to be there.

I conclude that someone used a triangular-tipped punch/tool to put that there after it was minted.

For what reason? I don't know.
