I have been going through my collection to start reducing the size of it, going through 5 cents today and noticed this coin.

Mortar set.
Chrome plating is flaking off the die.
Very very common in 1944.
You also have rust beneath the plating of the coin forming in some areas.
It's a spender.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
