So I was searching a box of pennies and this one penny came up and I thought it might have been a error penny so I put it aside

Um, you are asking about punches on the reverse correct? Then can we have a picture of the reverse?

This is the back when it was punched the number must have went in deep because it hit the back

no you dont get it on the front were the hole is there is a number inside it with the number 6 completly in tact thats why I didnt call it not damaged

We "get it" just fine, your coin is damaged and there is no way a bulge like that could occur between two hardened steel dies when the coin was struck. The fact that the indent is located on the date is irrelevant, the date is not manually punched with individual digits. Indent+Bulge= post-mint damage.

Sounds like it was counter punched with a punch that had a 6 on it.

It is considered damage when people do this to coins.
