This is the other coin I picked up. It is a 1835 CBQ, this one with the highest mintage of the series by far at almost 2 million. As usual, your thoughts on grade and problems would be welcome. TPG grade and price paid in 48 hours as usual. Muchos nachos amigos.

I paid $380 delivered which is in line with prices paid for XF45 graded coins of this date according to auction records from multiple sources. Pretty happy again that it might be undergraded.

Received this in hand. It actually doesn't look golden but dark grey. Washed out by my incandescent light, but it sure did bring out all the flaws in the coin.

It looks like another Stacks coin. This only confirms my take that their pictures $uck. I would raise heck especially on the other coin and demand a return. It's not just them. David Lawrence and Great Collections use similar doctored photos. Stick with heritage. With their high resolution zoom in feature, at least you know what the coin will look like in hand.

Definitely AU details there I think. Perhaps bumped down to 45 due to the imperfections.

It's very difficult to get an AU grade from PCGS on coins without good luster. I agree this coin is technically an AU.
