Hi not sure if I'm posting in the right section or not but came across this 1893 penny in amongst some others and noticed this done to the queen I know it's not a good thing to do but I think it's quite good not a clue who did it but just thought I'd share it with everyone as its an interesting find

A nice bit of amateur engraving that probably increases the value - perhaps a soldier passing the time away ?

It is not unusual for engineers to use a coin or two to pack out a spanner on a nut where the spanner is a little too large. I've used the trick myself.
Couldnt obviously say thats where the marks are from. Just a snippet of info
