Hey everyone,

I recently got these three coins as part of a larger estate sale I purchased.
I do not know anything about them, other than they may be Chinese.
One coin is by itself in a 2x2, while the other two are in a display box.

Any information helps, I literally know nothing about these coins!

The first item is not a coin, it is a medal. It has no denomination on it.

Although I don't read Chinese, the I think the certificate says the mintage is 5,000 and they were issued at a price of 188 yuan (currently about $27.00, about the same as in 2010). You have number 4,041.

Now, I see no .999 or .925 on the certificate, but that may not mean anything. The medal itself is not marked as if it were precious metal (but see my comments below).

If you search IMAGES for "blossom shaped coin" you will find a medal exactly like yours. You will then find that they are not silver, but "plated metal", and one seller has them for $19.99 plus $10.22 shipping from China.

For some reason, the Chinese love to make medals like these. Many of them are just fantasy pieces (for good luck, perhaps) and are just plated base metal, even if marked as if they were precious metal.

I couldn't quickly find the other two, but I notice they are marked "1 oz" and one appears to be silver color and the other gold color. They don't specify 1 oz of what, but that is handy for the manufacturer because they can just stamp out one kind, then plate one with a silver colored metal and others with a gold colored metal.

Have you weighed them? Do they stick to a magnet?

Thanks for the information!

I haven't weighed them, but I did use a magnet and none of them stuck, not even the first one.

Well, if the bottom two were actually silver and gold, the gold one would weigh significantly more ( even enough to easily tell by hand).

Let us know...
