Poll Question
Hey guys! So..I am looking to round out my current collection with a nice $5 half eagle. I am torn between a really nice PCGS MS62 1893 Liberty head half eagle or an NGC AU58 1911 Indian Head half eagle with the CAC designation. I like both- the design of the indian head I favor more than the design of the Liberty, however, I like the fact that the 1893 is MS, really nice luster, and is from the 1800s. Oh, and I forgot that the Liberty is approx. $355 while the Indian would be more around $405. Your opinions are welcome. Thanks!!

Poll Choices
 PCGS MS62 Liberty $5
NGC AU58 Indian $5 with CAC

I'd go with the 1893 $5. It's mint state. 1911 Indian is a common date, plus they get really expensive in mint state. Normally around $550 to $600 in ms62 and up.

As much as I prefer the Indian design as well, if I had to choose between these two, I'd go for MS Liberty. That condition, especially if it looks as good as you describe, will only enhance your collection and improve resale later. The CAC sticker on an AU coin, not so much.

I had to go with indian, the coolest design, I love the Cac, and although the liberty is very reasonably priced, the indian design gold coins will sell for much more if you ever want to sell them.

My opinion, get the coin that looks best to you.

Buy the one with the best eye appeal. What you like the best that is.

I personally am partial to Indians.
But the smart thing would be to go with the best eye appeal
as has been mentioned.
