Quote: i just don't see it a huge success for flippers to find buyers that arent already MC members. We saw that just recently with the 5oz goose coin.
The 5 oz goose coin was not a MC exclusive coin. It was available at all the dealers including Canada Post. Do you mean the Library of Parliament 2 oz coin?

All the new releases are on RCM website now. I am platinum prestige. What other levels can view all March releases?

Platinum plus can see them now, too.

The limit for the coin is 1 per household, unlike the Library of Parliament MC exclusive which had no limit in the beginning.
With a mintage of 4000, everyone who wants one should have no trouble getting one.

I was thinking of the goose SD in the context that MC members interesting in flipping initially thought it would make money. But the Library of Parliament SD is a good example as well. There are presently more than 20 for sale on ebay, not much action. So I guess my point was that it seems most of the potential buyers of 2 and 5oz coins have already spent their way up to MC membership so the opportunity of flipping on the secondary market has become very limited. That's a good thing in my opinion. Most of those who buy, buy to keep.

The Library of Parliament coins are not moving because the prices of them are around the $300 mark. If the sellers dropped the prices the coins would sell in a flash.

I picked one up using my MC code for $150 discount.

@MoneyPenney
I agree. I sold 7 of them between $250.00 to $295.00 range.

I bought one this morning and tried to buy another to add to my other address but wouldn't allow me to. So I called the RCM for two things, one being that some of the coins being shipped out are poor in quality with marks on them or spots and the latest one with the Heart in between the two butterflies is glued crooked and not in the center. He told me that he is aware of the problem and they are looking into a better QA. the other one I said I want to buy another one of the Masters Club 2 oz. Pure Silver 50 Cent Coin and he told me one per household. Which then I replied I have two houses and I wish to buy another and shipped to the other house. He is now addressing this to a supervisor and I'm supposed to wait up to 72 hours to see if I can indeed buy another. By that time I believe they will be sold out. They should change the wording from one per household to one per member so that there isn't any confusion.

personally I think this one will be held to the 5 effigies, victoria 1870-1901,edward vii 1902-1910, george v 1911-1939, george vi 1937-1952,elizabeth ii 1953 to date.. that will be the run of these 2 ounce coins.. and yes I would buy one if you can.. this coin will not sell under issue price. if you wait a year hoping for lower price , I would suggest you try to buy one the first renewed voyageur dollars for anywhere near not triple issue price...the first voyageur coins have found there way into true collector hands, and very few for sale.. the second one is still in flippers hands..but sells for 100$ over issue price with no problem..

@jimper Many people own different properties or have P.O. boxes and the one per household limit is fair in order to ensure that most MC members have the opportunity to purchase one. Kudos to RCM if this policy is enforced. The Library of Parliament MC coin was a fiasco because of the online ordering that was not monitored at all while we were told only 1 per household by our reps. Just my opinion.

while you say, or they say one per household, it is one per account..unless you call in with a different id, you can only order one..unless of course you have 2 id's with 2 different accounts, then you can order 2 coins..

@New1954 I don't have a problem of just buying one. I'm just saying that the RCM should change the wording of one per household to one per member so that there isn't any confusion.
