My name is Matt, I am new to the forum. I am trying to find any information I can on this coin that I found a number of years ago in the bottom of an antique clock from the 1840s. I believe it is a United States coin, possibly a colonial Cent or a large cent I'm not quite sure. It appears to be copper, but it is so worn that it's impossible for me to find anything to reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! #129303;

all I can say with my level of knowledge (a bit above zero) is that this is a french coin from the 1700s.
Feel free to call me Will.
Rest in Peace

It would be either 2 sols or 12 deniers from 1791, 1792, or 1793. Judging by Louis's neck and the cap on the reverse, it should be 2 sols.
