Recently I have committed a small act of "numismatic sacrilege"

Let me explain
I have a collection of 1 and 2 cent coins because they remind me of my childhood days, growing up in Sydney. In the 1970's you could buy quite a bit with a handful of 1 and 2 cent coins.
Redskin Candy Bars were 1 cent each.
A packet of Twisties was 5 cents each.
A meat pie was 15 cent and if you also wanted tomato sauce on top then you had to give the school tuck shop lady 17 cents.

Recently I have added to this collection by including the 2017 2c Devlin Kangaroo Bronze commemorative coin. This involved buying 4 packs of these in their original folder. I broke open one of the folders to extract the coin and to add it to my collection. See attached pic

Featured on the cover of the current March 2017 ed.
AUSTRALASIAN Coin & Banknote Magazine.

It is obvious that this design is only a proposal (the lizard design chosen), because it is obvious from the presentation of the die cutting.

The lizard design looks to be fully developed for production. The 2 Cent kangaroo design seems to have been adapted from a sketch.

...I agree sel_691

The design on the Devlin commemorative does appear quite "shallow / flat / almost 2 dimensional" when compared to the circulation "frilled lizard" design.

Still, I think it is a nice addition to the collection and there are certainly blank spaces in the album to accommodate this.
