http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/tru...my-1.4013951"According to details obtained by CBC News, the 25-cent regular circulation coin will feature an image of the Stanley Cup flanked on the left by a hockey player in period uniform and on the right by a player in a modern day uniform" Also noted in the story is $2 circ coin commemorating Vimy Ridge. "The coin will feature an image of the Vimy Memorial on the inner core and overlapping onto the outer ring of the coin. To the left of the memorial will be a Canadian soldier in a First World War uniform. To the right of the memorial the coin will feature an image of a Canadian veteran saluting." BTW, I feel it necessary to apologize to anyone who reads the comments on the CBC story - especially non-Canadians. It's clear our country has it's share of woefully misinformed and down right ignorant citizens.

Interesting, 1893-1993 Sterling Silver Dollar Proof commemorates 100 years since Stanley Cup first awarded. So you would think 125th would be 2018 But nope, RCM now commemorating March 1892 when Lord Stanley of Preston put 'pen to paper' thinking a "Cup" would be a good idea...

Good point. At least the Lord Stanley's Gift Memorial Monument Inc., the non-profit charitable organization that is sponsoring the $2.8M monument, is waiting until December to unveil the Stanley Cup monument on Sparks street in Ottawa. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottaw...en-1.3849831 Not sure why the Mint is jumping the gun on the 125th of the Stanley Cup other than getting in on the NHL sponsored 'celebrations' next week at Rideau Hall, Aberdeen Pavilion and the Canadian Tire Centre.

I like it! The Stanley Cup right in the center! Can't wait to get a roll!

Quote: I like it! The Stanley Cup right in the center! Can't wait to get a roll! I assume, the RCM price will be CAD 20+ for a roll. Because of "special wrap" I do not see any specialty, but it just IMO. Unlike serialized 2012 Penny and annual 50c rolls - these just circulated coins. Looks like better to take the simple rolls at the Bank.

These rolls are no more special than the other special rolls issued over the past 10-15 years. All of the poppy quarters, veterans and 2007-2009 Olympic quarter for example were issued in special wrapping. I don't think any of those rolls have appreciated much if any. Maybe a few of the loonie rolls have done well over time (Terry Fox comes to mind). In any case, as Silveroid said, there is no comparison IMO to the serialized last penny rolls. The new Stanley Cup quarter is scheduled to be unveiled tomorrow at 1PM. For those in Ottawa, there is an event at Rideau Hall 2-7PM so it seems extremely likely that the 1PM reveal will be at RH with the Cup in the building. "The Governor General David Johnston will welcome the iconic trophy back to Rideau Hall, along with 100 Greatest NHL® Players Mike Bossy, Paul Coffey, Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich, Bernie Parent and Bryan Trottier. The public will be able to have their picture taken inside the residence, beneath the official portrait of Lord Stanley, Canada's 6th governor general and donator of the Stanley Cup®. Visitors are also invited to lace up their skates and hit the ice on Rideau Hall's refrigerated outdoor skating rink."http://www.ottawa2017.ca/events/sig...cup-tribute/

I think it looks good! Too bad the registered trademark symbols have to cheese up the design though. Hopefully they aren't as obvious in-hand.

Thanks. My rep sent notice for the special wrap at 2x+ FV but not the 10 coin packs. I have to admit, I am surprised that they have issued the new quarter at FV in these packs.

Thanks for the notice and glad RCM is selling 10-coin packs. That makes it so easy!

Limited to only 1 pack per household. It's so silly the mint's limit is 1! Make it at least 3 or 5. But 1 is almost useless when you have 5 grandkids. And these packs are perfect to encourage young collectors. It's a shame the limit is so low.

There is also a coin exchange planned for Tuesday at First Canadian Place. Limit of 4 coins (allegedly).

I ordered 10 of these 10-coin packs. They make fantastic stocking stuffers at Christmas and card stuffers for birthdays and other occasions.
