I've been looking for a flying eagle for my 7070 and wanted one with a wrong strike on the breast feathers is it difficult to find one? I've settled on an AU that I like but have limited experience with the series. Do you think this 1858 flying eagle cent is a decent coin? What about the price?

I like it Coindog.

Seems fairly priced with what is available...
and you can make an offer for a little less.

That is as good as it gets for an AU-50 these days so long as you are okay with a somewhat darkly toned piece. Toning is better that dipped, which might not be stable, or cleaned that might not be gradeable or stable.

Price is FULL retail.
IMO offer $200 but settle for $225 since S&H is free.

The thing I find most difficult to find is one with a reverse with a good strike. If you can find an AU with even toning and both a solid obverse and reverse strike I'd pounce. Assuming the price isn't way out of line. I had an AU55 a few years back that was just a gem. I ended up selling it and haven't across one nearly as nice since.

Looks like a nice example for the grade, I'll defer to others on price.
