Hi Gang, first post and thought I'd share. This is from my Grandmother's collection of coins. It has 19325 and .999 Pure Silver stamped on its edge. The discoloration on the back is residue from the foam it sat on in its plastic case.

Welcome to CCF!

Very nice historical commemorative medal.

You may be interested to know that it also was struck in 0.999 fine silver and was available individually and as part of a three-piece set.

The medals in the set shared a common Powell obverse, but each had its own distinct reverse design. In addition to the Seal of Arizona as on the reverse of your medal, the other two feature the Seal of Utah and Seal of Wyoming, respectively.

Thanks for the welcome and my apologies for placing in the wrong forum. As I get further into the hobby I'm sure I'll do better. Had to edit the number info too. I have some other tokens to share as well. As far as the Powell, any suggestions for getting the foam off safely? I know it's not a good idea to clean coins, does that also hold true in this instance?

Before doing anything, read this...

Then ask more questions. Better to be patient than to ruin a nice medal.
