first one. i have noticed that there is quite some difference in attributers - information. for example the 1972P cent. coppercions site lists 18 DDO's wexlers site lists 24 DDO's while I have the highest respect for both information providers - I find it odd that there is such a difference in the documeted information. for an issue - as widely know and studied and documentd...why is there such a descrepancy in the number of documented varieties. when I first discovered - forum sites like this one (and some others), I thought of "coppercoins" site as something of the "holly grail" of information websites. as time passed and other sites and attributers came into my information access - I find it surprising that there should be such a difference in available information. i dont mean or, intend to disrespect anyones resorce - as I find them all to be extremely valuable and informative - and a valuable sources of information to a novice collector (as myself).. I simply am surprised at the "range" and differences - between such - giants within the nusmatic community. thoughts and opinions from others are appreciated...

According to Chuck Daughtrey of CC in 2015, he's been busy with other things more recently, hence the web site hasn't been kept up nor is he personally attributing coins I too considered CC to be supremo....have noticed that Wexler does seem to consider like MM's by different #s when it's different die pairs at times. I stick w/CC, has cross-references to Wexler's and CONECA if needed and better pix. Remember dbrablec, opinions are like *********, everyone has one!

One thing to note is that none of them will attribute and catalog a coin unless they have it in hand for examination and imaging, regardless of whether someone else has cataloged it or not.

As Crazy said CC hasn't entered anything since 2013. CC is my go to source, then I go to Wex. or VV.

Between the Variety Vista Site, Coppercoins and Wexler's site there are often differences because of the major and minor varieties. As listed the CONCECA site lists the major Varieties, The coppercoins major and some minor varieties. The Wexler site tends to list more of the major and minor varieties. That is the differences. If less coins are submitted, then less will be listed. But each chooses which ones they want to list. It is their choice as to what makes it into their listings.

Along with all of the other comments, maintaining a site like that takes a lot of time and effort. The research alone takes a few lifetimes. As well as the legal implications of photo ownership and making sure you cite the submission source. Many of them cross reference as stated, that can be useful to see more photos and angles. You should see my list of bookmarks under coins. People tend to submit examples to their preferred site and not to the others.

Not to mention that it cost around $5.00 per submission to submit them. Some people submitting them probably don't care if they are on more than one site. Still Lookin

All very valid points. Whether they 100% align or not, I enjoy having multiple resources to consult.
