Here is a CSA $1000 note... could you tell me something about it. I know it is genuine ... for much like my previous post this was also found in an undisturbed attic of my great grandparents. It is in relatively good shape. Does it have value? Give me a sec to upload the image... that is if I can figure it out!

An authentic CSA $1,000 note is a fairly valuable piece. Hoping you are able to get pictures or scans uploaded -MV

A reproduction note is one that was printed after the originals. It could have been made with the intent to defraud, or to reproduce a cool piece of history, Either way, it is unfortunately inauthentic.

I believe it to be genuine... it was in a box with a CSA bill, a Republica Dos Estadoes Unidos 1 UM bill.. (whatever that is... you can see the edges of that peculiar bill on the photo of the backside of the 1000 CSA note). The edges of the $1000 note are pretty straight but they are not parallel with the black border around the perimeter. The printing on the back is also skewed with the paper's border.

Did that make fake bills in 1861? My ancestors were incredibly well off (not something that I am terribly proud of) but for my ancestors to have a large denomination bills/notes is not unreasonable. But who knows? I don't pretend to know anything about numismatology. I do know that this bill and 3 other notes have laid in a box for 3 generations. ? Thank you for your advice and knowledge!

Serial # 88a is a know reproduction/fake. The printing style is completely off as well.
I'm far from an expert, but will agree with the others, this not a genuine $1000 Confederate note.

In the centennial years (1961 to 1965) Confederate currency was reproduced on a massive scale to be sold in gift shops, museums, battlefield sites, etc. the paper appears whiter and was sometimes artificially aged to make it appear older. Here's what an authentic one looks like https://currency.ha.com/itm/confede...ption-071515On the original/authentic $1,000 the back is blank

MeadowView Collector: Thank you for the image.. there is a big difference. Front and back. So they made fake bills back then and the buyers were unaware?

So this bill was made in the 1960's? Curious that it was found with the other bills but I agree... there is a huge difference in the quality, color etc. Mine is fake.
