Seeing as I don't have a recent price guide to use, and ebay is never a good solid source, how do the prices on PCGS match up to actual prices?

How much are they off (or on) to the actual prices in most cases? Can I use them as a reliable start to point me in the right direction?

In my opinion, for the coins I collect, I think they are way too high.

The prices are the high end for PCGS certified coins and not raw or other TPG coins

I agree with everyone. Their prices are way too high and shouldn't be used to price coins. Your best bet would be ebay/teletrade/heritage/redbook for pricing.
