This one has been puzzling me so I am just going to throw up a bunch of photos and ask for some help figuring out the correct attribution. Thanks!

Nice Die Crack at the Memorial, but I'm not seeing a Doubled Die. Maybe some MD here and there, but not a Doubled Die.

I suspect that's a DDO: I see thickening in the down stroke of the 9 and the lower loop of the 8
Compare to WDDO-006. Check if there's the die gouge on the reverse.

Yes, now that you mention it, the date might be something.

Looking at WDDO-006 I do not see the gouge by the D in UNITED, and the stuff that is there doesn't match up. There is a stain where the die gouge should be.

But, while looking at the photo of the date for 006 I see something that Wexler does not specifically note but seems to match up very nicely. There is a die gouge below the left side of the 8 that seems just right for one on my coin. Might be the smoking gun.

Sounds like it's the same obverse die. I guess you have the 006. Congrats.

Good eye! Those striations on the bottom right of the 4 also seem to be there...

THanks for the help! I now feel pretty confident labeling this one as WDDO--006.

From the images provided I don't see a match yet. The CONECA 1984 1c DDO-006:
http://www.varietyvista.com/01b%20L...4PDDO006.htm
But the die crack is wrong. The one on that site is a Stage C LDS. So I doubt that it is that die number.

The Wexler one doesn't look like a match to me from what I see in the images. (die state can alter a die a bit)

So you might want to consider sending it in to one or both sometime in the future. You might try images first. Try to get images that would be helpful to see if they are interested to look at it or not first. They may see something we don't from other images they may have of their examples. It might be a new die. Try taking images that they are showing on the site. The Variety Vista site may want to see if it is a different dies state than they already have. That is what I would for this one.

The die crack doesn't match anything on any of the sites, which is one of the reasons I posted it here. The other reason is that I looked at every marker listed or shown for every variety before posting and could not find a match. I did my homework as I mostly can attribute a DDO from the available information, but this one stumped me. I suspect it is one of the known varieties, and WDDO-006 obverse really seems like a match, in a different die stage than has been examined so far. I can't believe that die crack would not be mentioned as a die marker for a variety if it were on an examined coin. Thanks for the help with this one, and Coop you may be right that there is reason to send along some photos to see if there is interest in someone examining the coin.
