I have been going through a large collection, we think the collection
was put together over 40 to 50 years. The collector who put
it together passed away in 2001.

Of the items I am buying were three large medals.
I am hoping they were made at the U.S. mint.
And that some of the experts might share some information on them.

All the boxes look the same, so I am guessing from the same era.

First one John F. Kennedy
They are sealed in a plastic bag, so the pictures are not great.
All of these are about three inches across.

At the base of Kennedys neck it says Gilroy Roberts 1961

Base of Lincoln's neck has Morgan

Style and fabric of Grant? madal very similar to products of the
Medallic Art Co. N.Y.
Potentially valuable
Saw a bronze 3 inch diameter medal (different subject material - 50 years tracked Caterpillar bulldozers 1904-1954), from this company on ebay for $300.

Might be worthwhile Googling
'Medallic Art co., N.Y.'

The Kennedy and Lincoln ones look like the ones currently available from the mint. What size are they?

The designs are the same as the 1 5#8260;16 Inch US Mint medallions So the chances of them originating from the US Mint is pretty good.

The Lincoln is a Julian pr-12. I believe it has a date range. The Morgan signature is speculated to be added when he became chief engraver in 1917. I guess there is a size difference between the old ones and the newer ones.

All of the medals shown are modern US Mint pieces; they all appear to be re-strikes from the '70s/'80s.

I checked out the mint link and the Kennedy and Linclon medals
look the same. The third one is not currently on that mint list.

I think commems is right .. restrikes from 70's or 80's sounds about right.
I did find some online with similar boxes.

The three I posted are all 3 inch

I agree with you ....

Once I started really looking at all the different types of
medals,
I just want to get more.

And these large size ones, I like even more.
