TPG XF45-AU50 sharpness, a late die state. Not a big fan of the blotchy obverse and reverse color, although there are relatively few marks, which is a point in its favor, so on the balance, full XF45 with a shot at AU50.

My EAC grade would be 40/35 with the only minor deductions for the uneven color and a few scattered nicks.

Nice pickup, in my opinion.

AU50. it appears that some liquid was applied to the surface at some time in its life whether intentional or not. you can see the residual from the cheek to the bottom of the neck as well as from star 7 to star 9. not saying it was cleaned just pointing it out

I'm horrible at grading coins and more so on nickel/copper coins. As far as the two coins both has almost all the details which is a requirements for XF and above. The AU coin is just a little bit sharper while the XF has marks all over the field and making it less attractive.
