It's interesting but, there's no way to know how much of that weight is quartz and not gold.

A gamble for sure but for 0.22 ozt total weight, the price w/ premium is already too high IMHO, at least for me.

Do nuggets like this have a premium over refined?

I am NOT saying by any means that is example if fake,
but
it is nevertheless very easy to fake gold nuggets.

Usually, the amount of gold in a nugget up for auction will yield a sale price well above it's refined melt value.
This is the reason why the temptation to fake gold nuggets with real gold is so strong.

Easy enough to melt some small amount of nugget gold with coin gold, and add some crushed quartz into the mixture.
Tests convincingly for trace elements, and the quartz impurities add to the deception.

I think the listing would be better suited in their minerals auction.

Anyone remember Hank Schrader?

This one is real But it doesn't have much rock in it.
There is a little bit of rock there but not much.

Trout: Looks like a piece of compressed golden goose dung!

Maybe a golden goose CAN lay a golden egg.

AT least, in your case, I have a background of proof that your example can only be genuine.
And it's a damn' good one at that ! Congrats.
