Thanks coop, if my financial situation weren't so dire it would be in my family for a long time. I may have to consider selling it, though.

Can anyone weigh in on this regarding the potential scarcity of this coin? I'm not a collector, so I'd like to get it into the hands of someone who will appreciate it, but would also like to know what might be a fair asking price range. Thank you!

Hey all, I know it's been forever, but I finally was able to send the coin off to PCGS and I'm waiting for the results. I'll try to update when I get it back! Thanks, though super belated

Hi Greg, nice of you to come back and update us. Its just like they say it takes money to make money and sending it in for grading costs money that not everyone has (including myself). I am glad you were able to follow through with it. Best of luck. We'll be waiting.

Thanks for the update and I'm looking forward to the results! The coin on ebay I linked to before still has not sold (I'm sure now the price is way too high), but I did find a similar coin that did sell. It's Mint State, but has a lower degree of rotation: 123178743500Best of luck.

It is a proof coin that raises the bar a lot more than a business strike would. So that would not be fair auction to compare it with.

Neither of the ebay listings I linked to were proofs. The unsold 1976-S is silver, however, and also a high grade with its own nice premium even without the error.

It is an scarece type error not often seen on the Ikes! so it was indeed a good idea to send it in.

Never heard from this guy on his results from sending in to PCGS. I wonder about it's authenticity now.
