Hello, I found a coin among my grandfather's belongings after he passed and this one seems curious, I guess, since I can't find any similar coins in any search I've tried. It's a 1776-1976 Eisenhower dollar but instead of the usual upside down rotation on the reverse, this one is rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. Is this a thing, or just a common error? Thank you for any response. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by Greg Hasselbach 03/06/2017 5:53 pm

Rotated dies come in all degrees of severity (pun intended). Small rotations are within Mint tolerances but, certainly not 90°!
I don't know the value put on something like that but I would consider it a Mint error and it should demand a premium.
Can you post pics with some sort of reference for the rotation (like a mirror or holder/flip orientation)?

An ebay search produced this: 361905924188It hasn't sold, so I don't know if that price is overblown or not and it's 130° and graded.

Thanks for the warm welcomes and feedback! It's pretty cool, because I haven't been able to find another one on any searches that are 90 degrees (though I'm sure they're out there).

Also thanks spruette, I looked that ebay one up. I imagine 130 degrees would be rarer than 90.

90 is basically the same as 130 degrees, depends on where its measured from. 90 degree CW = 130 degrees CCW and 90 degress CCW = 130 degrees CW. If I am not rotated myself, your coin looks like 90 degree CW
