@rf, your coin has sustained some damage by someone who was using a sharp tool to remove dirt on some other substance from the coin. Fortunately for the purpose of reading the date, most damage is on the rev. You should be able to get a reasonably good viewing of the date as it is written in kuffic script around the circumference on the obv.
