I purchased this awhile back because of the look.

No its nothing to do with the mint just one somebody has done at home drunk.

Putting enamel on coins was quite popular in the UK for quite a few years, for use in jewellery.

Some of them were really done well, and command decent prices.

Yes Pete, The Royal Mint's offerings are expensive enough but those of the London Mint Office are simply outrageous.
I feel sorry for anyone buying these kinds of products and imagining they are investing for the future as they are in for a nasty wake up call some years down the line.
