I was just curious as to what silver was spotting at when it was decided to mint clad coins instead of silver? And what would that equate to in today's dollars?

While most collectors believe that 1964 was the last year that the United States Mints struck 90% silver coins for circulation -1966 was actually the last year of the 90% silver coinage output for circulation! Specifically, 1964 dated 90% silver coins were produced from January 1964 through April of 1966

I had to look this up. It's true.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coinage_Act_of_1965 -- The first 1965-dated coins were struck in August 1965, but 1964-dated coins were still being struck "until the coin shortage is over". On August 1, 1966, all coins would then bear the date of minting.

You learn something new every day. Except Chase007, who already knew this.

Oh, No. The Mint changed from Silver to clad stuff. WOW, that is new to me. Think I'll run out and buy all the Silver coins I can find.
