So do I keep hold of it or do I throw it in my Copper Scrap bin, Not sure if it would be illegal to do that as I'm not an American Citizen but I do know that their would be consequences if I tried doing that with our own Copper Coins here in the UK...? Appreciate the quick responses guys!

If it gets destroyed, then it is good. You may want to deface it with something just in case.
