Hey all,

I am new here, and hope this is the correct place to post for these coins. I inherited a large collection of coins, and these little guys stood out:

Sorry about the poor quality. From what I have researched, these may just be tokens, not true fractional cents. Anybody know the history behind them? Not many photos online to compare to. Thanks in advance!

They're tokens. Here's a site with good token pictures and information.

Your 1855 bear looks like Burnie type 24. The value depends on whether it contains gold. If it does it could be worth up to $200. If it's plated brass it's worth less than $5.

Definitely get them checked out though because not being genuine doesn't necessarily mean not gold.
