Probably this was discussed previously. I have several coins in the older rounded blue ANACS holder --done under prior ownership. Some are getting a bluish tone, esp Seated coins. The Unc. Morgans toned nice gold along the perimeter. The holder is clearly not properly sealed. Have others seen this?

I own a 1904 O Morgan dollar that used to be in a PCGS MS 64 Rattler holder that had gold toning along the rims. I found it quite attractive. It managed to cross to MS 65 at ANACS.

Agree the Morgans haven't toned poorly. I took my toned Morgans to a local show where ANACs attended and they agreed to reholder. They look good. I had to pay for that--new ownership--but they gave me coupons for equivalent free grades. Didn't address the others yet.

No. now in their new yellow more squared holders. The morgans have nice perimeter toning hopefully preserved now in new holders and look good. The other coins in lower grades are developing a slight bluish hue and I did not address those with ANACS. have maybe 5 is all but I am considering breaking out. Anyone else seeing this?

To the best of my knowledge none of the TPG's have slabs that are totally sealed.

They don't. PCGS made a splash (pun intended) over their waterproof slab, but it's not airtight.

The other PCGS and NGC holders don't show these changes over the same period of time. Must be degree of airtightedness. Contemplating reholdering. Still not exactly an ugly change, but definitely happening.

I thought the previous consensus on toning after slabbing was due to the paper and ink used for the label, and not the holder.
