I went to the bank today to exchange about $17 in coin. When the teller put the box on the counter I noticed that ALL the wrappers looked quite old! Sometimes I can't buy all the rolls they have for commerce reasons. I ended up buying all the rolls the teller had, $32 in rolled coin. It turns out that $30 of the rolls have the old wrappers.
I've searched through $4 so far and I can't believe all the BU coins that have been sitting in the wrappers for years. So far, I've found BU coins from 1972-1977. It's such a nice change from searching post 1982 coins. I have to save some of these coins to look through at a latter date to change it up a little!!

Makes you wonder if your neighbor's grandpa hadn't have put this up in the late 70's then, hmmmm?

Sometimes it is the little joys in life that are the sweetest! While not a huge windfall financially, I would be thrilled to come across something like this.

Nice! You can date the rolls by the most recent coin. A fun find to be sure.

So far, the newest coin has been 1977. I like to build nice rolls from roll searching and this group will help with my 70's rolls. It would have been much easier to buy the rolls back then, but who had the extra money to stash away back then...lol. They say the simple pleasures in like are the best and this has been fun so far.

So so jealous. My last group of lincolns were all 2000s in average condition with no 2009's. Enjoy! I would be excited too. And no one in my house would get it so I would definitely share on the forum too...

Are there any wheats or other notable older BU coins like the 1969 Philly in the rolls?
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I've only opened 10 rolls so far and the BU coins have been 1972-1977. I was surprised that I've only found one wheat and it was a 1956 D. I plan to not rush through these rolls and make it last a little while...lol. As I go through them I'll post what I find.

A quick update on the rolls, the next few rolls where just like the others I've opened so far. The last roll I opened had nothing newer than 1964. The roll had one nice BU 1964 and 3 AU 1964's. It also had a nice AU 1961 D. I was happy to find 17 wheat cents with the oldest being 1938. I've been looking through regular rolls also to help not go through the old stash so fast. I did find a nice but dirty 2000 WAM yesterday (my 8th so far).
