Just got this wonderful example of US coinage. Why is it so special you ask...it's the first change I've received in over a year! I use cards all the time. Yesterday was caught without my wallet so had to use my stash of Half Dollars to buy a carpet rake, was $11.93, .07 in change!

I almost never use cash but, this forum has actually inspired me to do it more just for hope of receiving something special in change!

Edit: You didn't want to put your Two Cents in?

PS that was a whole lot more than 2 coppers...

It depends on what two coppers you have.

Sorry Endymionscott, this is a normal nickel. This is my nightly( 2 nights in a row so far) snarky comment coin thread. At least until the moderators lock it down! I lost my calling to have been a comedian long ago when I discovered I was afraid of people! Now I can snark incogneto! Wasn't meaning to cause you any grief, unless its you that's pulling my leg...

On two occasions I was hit with identity theft while using my debit card for daily mundane purchases.

For this reason I went over to having cash on hand and the benefit of receiving change to look over. Most of the time it's just routine pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters but sometimes you get a reward.

Wheats are not that uncommon among change in circulation. I've even built up a nice set of nickels and even a 1958 Washington quarter and a few silver dimes. Silver is rare to find but not impossible.

A carpet rake? Been a long time since I've heard of anyone needing one of those. We had two in the shop just to show off but no call for them of course. Been out of the business for awhile now but is shag coming back?
