This collection was passed down to me and today I opened the book and one of the coins fell out, I went to put it back in and noticed these letters written on the inside, I went through all the coins and removed all that had these letters written where the coin goes... Would anyone happen to know or guess what these letters could mean or stand for? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

In stack, such as we say " stash"? Did your relative perchance have safe or deposit box w/ loose or slabbed coins?

That's usually the abbreviation for ''In Stock''.

Was it the 1951 that fell out?
Apparently the book was full before one fell out, right? If the book was full, then I would quit worrying/thinking about it. If this was just written on empty holes, I would think it was a reminder of where they were storing those particular coins.
Are they different form the other coins, such as in better condition?

Quote: That's usually the abbreviation for ''In Stock''. I used that same abbreviation in my inventory list when I used to deal in coins many, many years ago.

Probably a reminder that he had the coins, but he didn't want to take them out of the holders.

I have all the coins that go in the empty spots, along with all of page 3, the book collection is complete, some of them are in better condition than others, for some reason I get the feeling that my Mawmaw who passed it down to me, bought it at a garage sale or resell shop!

My guess is at some point a dealer was exhibiting this album and selling individual coins. As each one sold, the message was there to remind any new customers that they also had the same coin in stock. Just a guess tho.
