to the family! I started out the same way, a few roll here and there. Got tired of crusing around to 10 different banks so started getting $25 box, then two, then $100 box of nickels, then nickel AND pennies...until my grandkids threatened an intervention! Yea it IS fun, for sure. I still get a box or two every month, but we all seem to settle into a specific direction of interest, what you collect, sets or series, just coins, or coins and currency, US only or world coins too. Some develop interests in ancient coins, getting the perfect coin to fill that hole in you collection. You're just starting, you'll find your way and what your desires may be. Keep the excitement going!nd find a "dump" bank, one that will take in ALL your coins for little or no fee at all. THAT"S what's hard, you really have to find the right teller and bank, usually where you have an account and sweet-talk the teller! Bring donuts in every one in a while. After breaking both my banks free coin counter machines, I was able to utilize the business option of coin dumping, any amount, no charges only have to wait sometime up to two days for it to post, a very small inconvenience for the 10,000 coins I'm dumping.

yes I am enjoying this hobby I'm doing it in small amounts I'm doing around 50 dollars in getting coins an dumping I dump my quarters at the local laundromat he has a machine that counts them into a bucket then gets put into the wall machine to dispense to the customers any I find I get to keep for helping out that day. I go once a week to refill the machine with quarters then if he has a bucket with any in it I can look though it then fill the machine hopper. also when brinks comes to pick up the bag of coins the guy saids any finds I say yep the last bag he gave me had 1-buffalo nickel in it an 40 silver quarters 4 rolls of quarters in a big bag of like 500 dollars worth. it took me a good few hours to search though the bag but it was a great fun evertime I found one I felt like a firework each time.

well its a box but then a bag when he comes to pick up the safe drops it would take an army of us to check all the coins in one truck.

That's still an excellent amount... if I get 4 boxes of quarters from the bank, I'm lucky if I get 1 silver quarter; a roll of quarters (40) is something like $150 in melt value... that's a good job!
