Hi there, New to the forum and was wondering what advice you can give on these rolls? I have been watching this ebay auction # 161891423777 and was wondering if anyone with previous purchasing experience would know if these are legit. And also if they would be mixed dates or multiple same dates? Thanks, Rich.

Absolutely not legit. Morgan dollars were distributed in $1000 bags of loose coins. There is an extremely small chance that these were rolled by a bank in the 50s or 60s, but that is not a chance to bet your money on.

The auction just doesn't add up. No sane person would sell an unsearched lot potentially worth tens of thousands (if these are all 1893-CC) for $2000. At any rate, the seller doesn't even accept returns. Big red flag.

My guess is that at best, the roll is filled with low-high AU common date Morgans with one CC at the end. At worst, it could be filled with culls.

to CCF Rich.

If these rolls were actually bank rolled years ago from 1,000 coin bags, the end of roll coins would be toned. Just another scam. Run Forest, run.

Based on the responses from this post, it is highly unlikely to locate an old silver dollar roll that hasn't been searched through. I'm a little confused because I have read several positive feedback
Comments from individuals who have purchased and opened these sealed rolls. This completely contradicts what's being said here and I'm wanting to get educated on it myself to prevent buying something I shouldn't. Has anybody done a right up on this?

Silverdollarmachine here is what I think is going on with the "positive " feedback on these rolls it is either a shill or stooge of the seller hyping these rolls up or the seller himself under a different ebay identity in either case these rolls are for suckers
