Nice $10. I like the heft of these coins. I had a 91cc $10 which I sold last summer. Most of what I made on it was due to the metal appreciation. What turns my head now is the cc Seated coinage. If only I could afford it....

Quick question:
Is it true that gold from Charlotte is like silver from New Orleans?
Soft strikes... less detail...

I am not much on gold, but it seems I have heard this before.

Most Charlotte gold I have seen were mushy looking so I have to say from what I have seen it seems to be true. Charlotte mint started up because of the gold that was found here and it was pretty much a short lived mint which never perfected the process of minting coinage and was probably using sub par machines even for that day and time. I live near Charlotte and thats why it fascinates me so much I guess
