I bought some Kennedy half dollars through the mail.I got the special mint set coins 1965,66 and 67 for $23.00 they are in perfect condition.I also got the 1968 S and 1969 S proofs for 6.50 a piece, they also are in perfect condition.Did I get a pretty good deal?Im just trying to collect what I like and my local coin shop is high in my opinion.
.
Rest in Peace

I'd say fair deal on SMS's, maybe a tad bit high on proofs, those you can get for around $5. If you're collecting what you like, you set your limit.

You mentioned "thru the mail", by an offer you mean, Readers Digest or perchance Littleton's? If so, their markups are atrociously high! Then not so good of a deal, paying up to twice what you should. I did some Littleton's at first, then realized could purchase from online coin dealers for much less. Been finding cheaper ways since?

It was from an online dealer and didn't specify I guess sorry. It was a place called Daves Coins. His prices seem very fair and if I paid a little too much I'm ok with that!!

If I see a coin I really want to own, I'll go all the way to get it, but will always shop around for the best deals and check market values!
