Is Old Quarter Tampered Or Mint Error.

The mint didn't do errors in that manner, has to be PMD, someone damaged coin. Why? Anybody's guess. Testing silver content, making jewelry, countermarked? Does it appear to be bulged out on the bust face opposite? Can't tell from pix, that may be a punch, but looks drilled, and is centered. Maybe it was a piece of jewelry, a broach that lost its hasp? Druu Pillar of the Community United States 1000 Posts	Posted 03/11/2017 8:18 pm The mark in the middle is tampering for sure. I think I even see a little bit of a raised portion on Liberty's face? You might have a misaligned die there though. The reverse looks slightly off centered, and I'm not sure if it's the angle of your lighting. (No premium there, just an interesting quirk.)
