It's hard to tell but, there may also be an odd area behind Lincoln's eye.

When I zoomed in I did see some plating bubbles along with many, many dings.

Tough year without really sharp photos, but you very well might be onto something here. From your photos it does look like a doubled die and pretty darn close to DDO-002. Try taking your best magnifying lens and looking closely at the pointy bit at the lower end of the vertical bar in the 5. You just might be able to see some sort of little notching there.
