I ran into this coin, and I am pretty sure that it grades VF35. BUT the date looks wrong. Particularly the 8 in the date looks wrong. I cannot see photos of all the varieties for this date. Would anyone with the Browning reference kindly check the date and let me know if there is a variety with this older style of 8? I believe there are eight varieties for this date.

Also the raised dot on top of the brooch looks caused by die rust at first glance, but there isn't any accompanying rust-induced damage around the dot. The reverse picture is out of focus, but it looks pretty clear that it is better than VF35 on that side from what I can see.

My suspicions are tingling. Any other thoughts also appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE: Ignore. Thought the coin was a quarter but is a half dollar. Date looks good for 50c.
