Thinking about buying this one too. I'm not an indian head specialist, but I am a pretty coin specialist. Thoughts on grade and problems appreciated. Photos are by PCGS TrueView, so less likely to be doctored by the seller. Also, what would you pay? PCGS grade and price in 48 hrs. Thanks!

Was able to find pictures of this coin in its slab, and it appears that PCGS TrueView is also guilty of embellishment. Glad I found this picture before ordering and that I didn't rely solely on the PCGS images.

Thoughts on which images ring truer?

Seller is asking a 147% premium over the PCGS price guide price.

Who took the second pics, the seller?

I find toning like that to be very difficult to photograph but surely PCGS is better at it.

And I'm assuming you mean a 47% premium over Price Guide?

I don't know the grade but, just so I've got this straight:

If PCGS Price Guide says $235 (for MS-65RB), the seller is asking $580?

I'm seeing a tiny bit of wear on the high points of the wreath leaves on the reverse and maybe on the cheek and hair curl by the ear on the obverse. I would probably call it AU-58. As for the toning or lack of same, I got burned once on a coin with jazzed up color before. The photos looked beautiful, nicely toned, but in hand it looked like an ordinary coin. Many collectors don't put much premium on toned coins, but some collectors love them and at times run up the price. While I appreciate a nicely toned coin, I personally would not spend much above market value unless I saw the coin in hand.

Proof-64 Would have to see it in hand since those 2 pics vary wildly.

The coin was sold at the 2016 Baltimore show for 97% of PCGS guide. Now marked up to 2.5x times that. There may be some room for negotiation.

Looks proof to me also based on the PCGS photos, maybe PR-64? The pictures in the slab look distorted.

The PCGS TrueView hasn't been doctored. It's what the coin will look like in hand when tilted towards proper lighting.

I could see a PR-64 on this one, nice looking IHC.
