Gotta Admit, SBA's are just about the shortest lived series of American coins. It was even brought back for an encore before being booed off stage



The other was the Flying Eagle, where the mint figured they didn't want the public to think they were getting the bird first!

Over the centuries and in most every country, coin sculptors typically depicted their subjects in the most flattering manner as an inspiring symbol on its nation's coinage. Susan B. Anthony may have been many things, but this hawk-nosed harpie image hardly lifts one's spirits, like most of Frank Gasparro's output.

I have yet to see a single flattering image of SBA, so I can't fault Frank Gasparro for that. He just didn't have much to work with there.
