I never looked too closely at this except to determine if it was wide rim or narrow rim. Tonight I noticed the oddity on more than half of the rim. It starts just left of the date and goes all the way past the Y in LIBERTY. Sorry this is the only pic I currently have but can take more. Thoughts?

The stars...../

the eleven sided inside rim.....?

Oh, I see it, the crappy rim job. Think the planchets had a raised rim and die was meant to stretch out and fill in, MAD?

That's a good point. Did the SBA dollar planchets have milled edges? That would be unnecessary, right? I have no idea.

I thought MAD/off-center but I don't have any pics of the reverse and haven't looked at it since I took the pic (too late/lazy to do that now). I've just never seen what a MAD would do to this sort of "rim."

I actually took that pic to be a potential prize in an upcoming contest.

Only then did I notice the unusual rim.

Edit: The reverse rim is normal so I guess she's just a little MAD.
