The Arabic looks carved or punched into a well-worn coin that was dunked in something very corrosive to smooth it out. I'll defer to someone who can actually read Arabic to decipher that part. On the second image, I think I can see the iconic "oil lamp" calligraphy used on Ottoman coins mostly in the 1700s and 1800s. Report this Post to the Staff
