Coincidently, that is the sound it makes when it is rejected by the machine.

"Jia Qing Tong Bao"

Our coins look to be the same. A fellow member Sap here identified this for me on CCF a few years back.

Mine might be upside down in image? I don't know. Mine is cracked.

look at yours and look at mine. The Chinese symbols look the same to me. Hit the link in my post and there's even better pictures. You may have to turn your coin to compare but I think we may have the same thing here.

In your photo, above your N in mint, is a character that looks like the letter P. My coin doesn't have that. Further, on my coin, on the bottom character is a sort of Z on top of a laying down T, and yours doesn't have that.

I don't know anything about Chinese coins, but I can say OP's coin is upside down, and the characters are the same.

This is China indeed, but the emperor is rather Qianlong (emperor 1736-1795). Mint place is Boo-yuwan or Beijing, Board of Works.

The first image is indeed upside down

Dennman, thanks for the clarification of when it's from. In my daughter's coin collection, we write where and when the coin is from. We also write its value.

What do we write for this coin - one cash?
