These are pretty great. Most look to be in AU or MS condition and being in this holder for 60 some years has given a few of them some beautiful toning!

Improperly stored, ED, that's called tarnish, grandma would be gettin' the silver polish out about now...so would I as I transferred to new media.

Some on reverse look more corroded than "toned", destroyed the value immensely.

Toning is nice (to me) and happens often from cardboard holders over time. It's interesting to see the ones that tone and those that don't under the same conditions.

The last pic shows two or three that look corroded.

The others are probably pretty nice in hand!

Yes, I agree coins will be ruined if you clean them.

These were in a big pile of my dads stuff that I'm going through. Yes some of them are corroded but a lot have nice toning and it's pretty cool to think they've been sitting in this case since the early 60's! I'll be posting more as I get to them. He's got a lot in a safety deposit box I haven't even gotten to but if I remember correctly there are a lot of uncirculated Morgan and Peace dollars and walking liberty and Franklin halves.
