Hi guys,

All opinions on this coin (grade, value, etc.) are greatly appreciated.

The pictures were made with Nikon D3100 under a slight angle. If it's neccessary I can take other pictures

At least on my monitor that is a very odd looking gold coin. It looks like copper. I have seen this once before on an 1838 Charlotte Mint $5 gold piece.

Ignoring the color I agree with Coin Frog that it looks like a Choice AU, but that color is hard for me to fathom. I passed on that 1838-C half eagle (Which is a very scarce coin.) for just that reason.

I agree pics suggest metal other than gold
should be 90% gold and 10% copper

AU58. I think the color is just from the lighting. the pics make it look like it was dipped out. better lighting would be nice

The color is from lightning. Any opinion on value or where to grade it in Europe?
